Hidden Church

coffee grinding
the church is hardly visible
in summer

my sumi-e painting
lets in the light

beneath Orion
one tooth more or less
won't matter

fragrant rose
will you carry me home...

Humming

sultry night -
an I-bug buzzes and hums
the sleep away

raga - her voice becomes
light becomes rain

two small jumps
and the shadow has gone
into the alley

after 88 years on view
Lenin laid to rest?

Johannes S. H. Bjerg 1, 3 & Sheila Windsor 2, 4

Third Day

third day of rain
concrete Buddha darkens
earth up

three lumps of sugar
I release a sigh

Hummingbird Hawk-Moth
surely everyone
questions who they are

a soft chair offered
by the Maker of Islands*

* (from a song by Incredible String Band)
