Margaret Conley - Australia

Fragment

After centuries of commitment, austerity and prayer, the order of nuns, that was housed here, is no more. Hotel guests now occupy the hallowed places of this convent. Clean and austere with furniture polish and upright chairs, my room has a window framing a crumbling bell tower. Through old masonry, there are distant Umbrian hills.
